So now that the mega crazy hype has started to calm down about the healthcare bill, I feel like it is safe for me to say that I DON'T GET IT.
I am an over educated person, who tries to keep up with the important moves our government takes, especially when my profession is situated in the heart of it. I have watched the news, read the articles, even tried reading portions of the bill, and I am still lacking to grasp the magnitude of the initiative.
I know that our country deserves healthcare, but I'm not sure that this is the way to do it. Ideally, I think that I am behind a universal healthcare system, but not so much what is going on here. Thankfully there are enough years in between each stage to work out the kinks and amend the draft, but man is it overwhelming. I wish that they would publish an 'Idiots Guide to Healthcare Reform' published by an entirely biased party. I believe that there are good things in the package, but I also know that there are things that I am not behind. It's really difficult to get straight answers ... especially living in CA as a conservative.
